Remembering Shira Rachel Rose Chertoff

Shira was a fierce advocate and friend of the homeless.  She was a resident of Ashland, Oregon, and a longtime volunteer at Options for Helping Residents of Ashland (OHRA), which supports the unhoused and others struggling with economic instability.  At the beginning of Covid, Shira became a full-time staff member at OHRA – a dream come true for her.  She treated everyone with dignity, grace, and humor, engendering trust and lifting spirits as she provided every resource available to those in need.

To honor Shira’s memory and the work that was so important to her, please consider making a contribution to OHRA.  Your donation will help carry her work – and her life – forward.
